The Stars Jeunes Talents Gazette

5 Jun 2028
From our football correspondent Steady

The dugout5 Jun 2028

Adam Hissein frozen out at Stars Jeunes Talents

This is not rotation. Adam Hissein has not been in the manager's plans for some time, and nobody at Stars Jeunes Talents is pretending otherwise.

Squad5 Jun 2028

A falling-out at Stars Jeunes Talents

Yannick Masra and a teammate went at it, and not about football. Training grounds are small places and a long season makes them smaller.

Transfer targets5 Jun 2028

Door shut on Brahim Ndoram

Stars Jeunes Talents asked and Galactik said no without discussing a figure. It is the least ambiguous answer in football and the one clubs most often come back to test.

Squad5 Jun 2028

Brahim Ndoram falls out with a teammate over standards

The oldest argument in any dressing room and the only one that is genuinely about football: one man thinks another is not putting enough in. It is also the row a manager privately does not mind having happened.

Squad5 Jun 2028

Stars Jeunes Talents count the cost of losing Abdoulaye Abakar

46 days, the scan says, and scans are kinder than reality. The fixtures in that window have just become somebody else’s job.

Squad5 Jun 2028

Mandla Mothiba signs on for more

“Some decisions take a long time. This one took ten minutes, and most of that was finding a pen.” Mandla Mothiba and Stars Jeunes Talents agree another 3 years.

Loan watch5 Jun 2028

Abdramane Allamine wants to come home

“I did not go to Galactik to sit and watch. I want to come back to Stars Jeunes Talents and fight for my place.” 6 appearances in 18 matches say the rest.

The dugout5 Jun 2028

Oumar Abba has become a man the manager trusts

Nobody at Stars Jeunes Talents will say this on the record and the team sheets have been saying it for weeks. There is a small group in every squad who get picked when the fixture is difficult, and he has joined it.

The dugout5 Jun 2028

No hiding place for Marius Djimet

“I pick players who do the work. All of it.” No name was spoken; every camera still turned to Marius Djimet, and the manager let it.

The Stars Jeunes Talents Gazette

21 Feb 2028
From our football correspondent Upbeat

Match21 Feb 2028

Stars Jeunes Talents refuse to drop out of the race

Position 3, 29 points, and the result everyone checks first is now theirs. The word is still not being said around the ground, which is how you know everyone is thinking it.

Squad21 Feb 2028

A one-man rearguard from Idriss Hissein

There were 6 saves in it, and at least three that had no business being saves at all. The ten outfield players owe him a drink and they know it.

Squad21 Feb 2028

Words exchanged at Stars Jeunes Talents

Moussa Moustapha and a teammate said things this week that will take longer than a week to unsay. It was not about football, and both of them play on Saturday.

Squad21 Feb 2028

Words at Stars Jeunes Talents training over how hard people work

Somebody said out loud what several people had been thinking. Brahim Ndoram is at the centre of it, and the squad will now find out whether the standard rises or the pair of them simply stop speaking.

Match19 Feb 2028

Yannick Masra sends Stars Jeunes Talents past AS PSI

It finished 1‑0, and it was Yannick Masra’s afternoon: on the scoresheet when it mattered, and the reason the points belong to Stars Jeunes Talents.

Squad21 Feb 2028

Marius Djimet signs on for more

“Some decisions take a long time. This one took ten minutes, and most of that was finding a pen.” Marius Djimet and Stars Jeunes Talents agree another 3 years.

Player ratings21 Feb 2028

The afternoon belonged to Oumar Mbainaissem

A mark of 7.75, and nobody in the ground would argue with it. He was involved in everything that mattered and most of what did not.

The dugout21 Feb 2028

Abdoulaye Mbaiguedem is still being punished for one mistake

Nobody will confirm it and the team sheets confirm it every week. One error has bought him a spell as second choice that is already longer than the error deserved.

The dugout21 Feb 2028

Abdoulaye Haroun: “That is the standard”

“That is what I want every week. Not the result, the way they went about it.” The manager, after 1‑0, already talking about the next one.
