Marked for Abderrahmane Benadla

The CS Constantine Courier

14 Dec 2026
From our football correspondent Triumph

Squad14 Dec 2026

A knee injury of the worst kind for Abdelmalek Necir

21 days on the estimate, and a long, private, unglamorous year of a rehabilitation nobody watches. CS Constantine lose a footballer; he loses considerably more than a season.

Player ratings14 Dec 2026

Both of them Ahmed Hassan's — 9.31

2 goals, and the second was the one that settled it. Marked 9.31, and he could have had a third with better luck at the near post.

Match14 Dec 2026

CS Constantine up to position 3

24 points on the board and a place in the leading group. Nobody at the ground is saying the word out loud yet.

Match12 Dec 2026

Nobody wants to play CS Constantine right now

5 wins in a row changes how opponents warm up: quieter, more glances across. Runs end, everybody knows that — but nobody in this dressing room is planning for it.

Squad14 Dec 2026

Real improvement from João Pedro at CS Constantine

Form comes and goes; this has not gone. João Pedro is 18, and the version of him training now would not have got into the side he was in a year ago.

Match12 Dec 2026

CS Constantine see off ES Mostaganem

Three points for CS Constantine, 2‑0 the final word against ES Mostaganem in a contest settled by the finer margins.

Match12 Dec 2026

CS Constantine make home a hard place to visit

8 without defeat on their own grass. The pitch has not changed; the crowd has — louder earlier, and quicker to sense when the opposition would rather be somewhere else.

Player ratings14 Dec 2026

Nassim L'Ghoul runs at them all day

Successful dribbles: 17. There is a particular sort of despair on a full-back's face by the seventieth minute, and it was on display.

The dugout14 Dec 2026

CS Constantine pick somebody else ahead of Zakaria Bouhalfaya

There is no complaint available here and everybody involved knows it, which does not make the walk to the bench any shorter. Form is the only currency in football that cannot be borrowed against.

The CS Constantine Courier

23 Nov 2026
From our football correspondent Upbeat

Squad23 Nov 2026

Abdelmalek Necir damages knee ligaments — 47 days out

The words a physio says slowly. 47 days is what the club will announce and everybody who has heard this diagnosis before knows the number is the least of it: the knee comes back before the player does.

Match21 Nov 2026

No mercy from CS Constantine

ES Ben Aknoun will want this one forgotten quickly: 5‑0, every duel lost, and a long ride home. CS Constantine were ruthless in the way good sides are ruthless.

Player ratings23 Nov 2026

Ahmed Hassan scores twice — 9.36

Two goals and a mark of 9.36 to go with them. Strikers are judged on afternoons like this one and remembered for far fewer of them than people imagine.

Player ratings23 Nov 2026

A brace, and Brahim Dib takes the afternoon — 8.40

There is a particular kind of quiet from an away end watching one man score twice. Brahim Dib provided it, and the 8.40 beside his name is if anything generous to everybody else.

Squad23 Nov 2026

Words exchanged at CS Constantine

Djihad Bizimana and a teammate said things this week that will take longer than a week to unsay. It was not about football, and both of them play on Saturday.

Player ratings23 Nov 2026

A masterclass from Tosin Omoyele

Marked 9.05 — the sort of number a correspondent writes down twice to be sure. Everything he tried came off, and what he did not try was not worth trying.

Squad23 Nov 2026

200 appearances for Islam Bakir

200 games in these colours. Service of that kind gets rarer every season, and the crowd knows it.

Player ratings23 Nov 2026

Ninety minutes of Nassim L'Ghoul at his very best

Marked 8.22. Players have careers without a single afternoon like this in them, and he has just had one in front of everybody at CS Constantine.

The dugout23 Nov 2026

The form table has caught Zakaria Bouhalfaya

Somebody else has been better, the manager has said so with a team sheet, and there is no argument to be had. He will get the shirt back the only way it can be got back.
