The Juventude Sentinel

No mercy from Juventude
Ituano will want this one forgotten quickly: 3‑0, every duel lost, and a long ride home. Juventude were ruthless in the way good sides are ruthless.

Facundo Colidio scores twice — 8.75
Two goals and a mark of 8.75 to go with them. Strikers are judged on afternoons like this one and remembered for far fewer of them than people imagine.

Tempers go at Juventude
Messias was at the centre of it, and by the time it was pulled apart there were three or four others involved. Training grounds are small places and long seasons make them smaller.

Facundo Colidio is carrying Juventude
16 goals and a season average of 7.21. Form like that gets noticed well beyond this town.

One of our own: André Moura joins the Juventude first team
Clubs spend fortunes looking for players and occasionally find one down the corridor. André Moura is that, and the reception he gets on his first appearance will be different in kind from the one any signing receives.

Willian Machado steps up from the Juventude academy
There is no fee, no unveiling and no agent on the steps. Willian Machado has been at this club since he was a boy and is now, formally, one of the first-team squad — which for a local readership beats any signing of any size.

Juventude promote Lobo from within
The academy exists for exactly this morning. Lobo has come through every age group the club runs and has now been handed a senior number, and the people who coached him at twelve will be the proudest in the building.

One of our own: Willian Tavares joins the Juventude first team
Clubs spend fortunes looking for players and occasionally find one down the corridor. Willian Tavares is that, and the reception he gets on his first appearance will be different in kind from the one any signing receives.

50 goals in the shirt for Facundo Colidio
50 for the club now, each one filed in somebody’s memory with a date and a scoreline. Numbers like this are what supporters argue about in twenty years.
