Cruel end for Defensores Unidos as San Martín SJ pounce
There is no crueller way to lose a football match. San Martín SJ scored in the 94th minute, the restart barely happened, and the away end was still standing when the whistle went.

Nazareno Funez scores twice — 8.73
Two goals and a mark of 8.73 to go with them. Strikers are judged on afternoons like this one and remembered for far fewer of them than people imagine.

Sebastián González, 34, rolls back the years — 8.08
There is an age at which every good afternoon gets described as a throwback, which is unfair and also accurate. 8.08 at 34, and nobody on the pitch was better.

San Martín SJ see off Defensores Unidos
Three points for San Martín SJ, 3‑2 the final word against Defensores Unidos in a contest settled by the finer margins.

A row about effort at San Martín SJ
Somebody said out loud what several people thought about how hard another man trains, and Nicolás Paz was in the middle of it. The one dressing-room argument that is genuinely about football.

Federico Suárez steps up from the San Martín SJ academy
There is no fee, no unveiling and no agent on the steps. Federico Suárez has been at this club since he was a boy and is now, formally, one of the first-team squad — which for a local readership beats any signing of any size.

One of our own: Noah Bruno joins the San Martín SJ first team
Clubs spend fortunes looking for players and occasionally find one down the corridor. Noah Bruno is that, and the reception he gets on his first appearance will be different in kind from the one any signing receives.
