Terms done: Joke Efevwerha is going

Fee agreed, wages agreed, and Hearts of Oak waiting with a shirt. Nobody at Medeama is pretending otherwise, and the supporters have stopped asking whether and started asking when.

Joke Efevwerha asks to leave Medeama

“I have given everything here and I need a new challenge.” The request is formal, and the relationship will never be quite the same again.

Match8 Jan 2028

6 unbeaten for Medeama

Hard to beat is not the same as winning, but 6 matches without defeat is a foundation Medeama did not have in the autumn.

Squad10 Jan 2028

A row about effort at Medeama

Somebody said out loud what several people thought about how hard another man trains, and Benjamin Acquah was in the middle of it. The one dressing-room argument that is genuinely about football.

Atromitos tell Medeama: Kelvin Ofori is not for sale

The approach was made and the answer came back in a sentence. There is no number on the table because there was no number that would have been enough.

Player ratings10 Jan 2028

Derrick Fordjour runs at them all day

Successful dribbles: 18. There is a particular sort of despair on a full-back's face by the seventieth minute, and it was on display.

The manager makes an example of Kingsley Braye

“If you cannot run for the shirt, somebody else will wear it.” No name was used and none was needed; every player in that room knew who it was for.

Squad10 Jan 2028

Medeama lose Abraham Baba

21 days, the medical staff say, and medical staff are optimists by profession. The team sheet will look wrong without him.

Player ratings10 Jan 2028

Victor Oduro takes the honours

Marked 7.51 on an afternoon he ran from the first whistle to the last. Whatever else went wrong, Medeama had the best player on the pitch.

Kingsley Braye puts it in writing

“This is not anger. I have thought about it for months, and nothing that has happened lately changed my mind.” The request is on a desk at Medeama, and it is not being withdrawn.

Market6 Sep 2027

Adams Abdul Jabal agrees terms with Wa All Stars

The clubs have settled the fee and he has settled his wages. What remains is a medical and a photograph, and around Medeama people have started saying his name in the past tense.

Transfer targets6 Sep 2027

Medeama agree $150.0K for Marvin Owusu

The clubs have shaken hands with Berekum Chelsea; the player has not yet. Personal terms are next, and personal terms are where more deals die than anybody prints.

Boardroom6 Sep 2027

Medeama close the window on a squad of their own making

7 in and 14 out, and no more changes for months. The manager has what he has, the supporters have their opinion of it, and the table will have the last word.

Squad6 Sep 2027

Words exchanged at Medeama

Nana Welbeck and a teammate said things this week that will take longer than a week to unsay. It was not about football, and both of them play on Saturday.

Boardroom6 Sep 2027

Graduation day at Medeama

5 boys move up, and somewhere in the building the people who coached them at twelve are quietly having the best morning of their working year. Nothing about this shows up in a result and it is why the academy exists.

Transfer targets6 Sep 2027

Door shut on Michael Ephson

Medeama asked and Heart of Lions said no without discussing a figure. It is the least ambiguous answer in football and the one clubs most often come back to test.

Market6 Sep 2027

Medeama promote Abraham Baba from within

The academy exists for exactly this morning. Abraham Baba has come through every age group the club runs and has now been handed a senior number, and the people who coached him at twelve will be the proudest in the building.

Market6 Sep 2027

Abdul Sulemana steps up from the Medeama academy

There is no fee, no unveiling and no agent on the steps. Abdul Sulemana has been at this club since he was a boy and is now, formally, one of the first-team squad — which for a local readership beats any signing of any size.
