A knee injury of the worst kind for Gabriël Misehouy
18 days on the estimate, and a long, private, unglamorous year of a rehabilitation nobody watches. Girona lose a footballer; he loses considerably more than a season.
Match21 Aug 2027
Girona let it slip despite Dani Olmo
Dani Olmo had done his part in building a 2-goal cushion. What happened after that was collective, and Athletic Bilbao were allowed back into a match that had been finished with.

Estanis Pedrola: that is not what I was promised
“Things were said to me before I signed. I am not going to repeat them, but I remember all of them.” Girona have not answered, which is an answer of sorts.

Girona turn down Zamora for Alejandro Francés
The offer was not close and it was refused without much discussion. Whether the second one is refused as quickly is another matter.

Edwin Torres hands in a written request
“I have nothing bad to say about this place. I just need to be somewhere else.” It is in writing now, which changes what Girona can pretend not to have heard.

Player ratings23 Aug 2027
The game went through Gustavo Puerta — 7.01
Marked 7.01 on 14 actions at both ends of the pitch. Midfielders like this get described as unspectacular by people who have never tried to play against one.

Graduation day at Girona
5 boys move up, and somewhere in the building the people who coached them at twelve are quietly having the best morning of their working year. Nothing about this shows up in a result and it is why the academy exists.

Girona rebuffed over Álvaro Fernández
Not now, not at any price the club was prepared to say out loud. Villarreal have kept their man, and Girona go back to a list with one name crossed off it.
